The Arthritis Foundation is the only national not-for-profit organization that supports the more than 100 types of arthritis and related conditions. Founded in 1948, with headquarters in Atlanta, the Arthritis Foundation has multiple service points located throughout the country. The Arthritis Foundation is the largest private, not-for-profit contributor to arthritis research in the world, funding more than $380 million in research grants since 1948. The foundation helps people take control of arthritis by providing public health education; pursuing public policy and legislation; and conducting evidence-based programs to improve the quality of life for those living with arthritis.
The Australian Nursing Federation (ANF) was established in 1924. The ANF is the national union for nurses and the largest professional nursing organisation in Australia. The ANF's core business is the industrial and professional representation of nurses and nursing through the activities of a national office and branches in every State and Territory.
Carers provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends who have a disability, mental illness, chronic condition, terminal illness or who are frail.
More than one in eight Australians provide care of this kind.
Carers Australia and the network of carers associations in each state and territory's purpose is to improve the lives of carers. MND Victoria is an organisation dedicated to the support of people living with Motor Neurone Disease.
The service is for everyone who is living with MND, whether directly involved or not. MND impacts not only upon those with the diagnosis, but also upon spouses, carers, parents, children, the extended family, friends, workmates and service providers.
Membership of MND Victoria and access to its services is free to people with motor neurone disease, and $20 per year to other interested people.

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic degenerative disease of the Central Nervous System and is the most common neurological disease that affects young adults. In MS sufferers the myelin, which encases the nerve fibres and assists nerve function, becomes inflamed and damaged causing plaques or lesions of inflammation and the myelin is lost from many areas of the Central Nervous System.
In contrast to a number of other charities, the Foundation is staffed solely by a team of volunteers who give their time and resources for free so that every dollar raised is placed into research.
